One of my favorite things about the fashion industry is the concept that ugly is beautiful. Some of the most successful models owe their success to having features that by normal standards would be considered ugly or out of the norm. Likewise, the most well-known and celebrated avant garde designers creations would be ridiculed by the average eye if they were worn on the streets. And no, I'm not thankful for this pretty=ugly standard because in fashion standards I fit in perfectly...hooray for self-ridicule. The truth is, I am in love with this concept because it defies the expectations that society has set. The fact that to the creative eye, something that is hideous to the average individual, can be beautiful in their eyes. And that is why i think fashion is one of the highest and most complex art forms. And I'm just getting the hold of it.

As much as I want to dive in and fling pictures of clothes and people that inspire me at you my, at this point nonexistent, followers...I felt it was important for me to first introduce myself.  I am a creative trapped in the body of an intellect.  Next year I will be attending UC Berkeley, while every fiber of my being begs me to pursue fashion.  I live for photography, to capture a moment perfectly for eternity I know is my true calling. I'm inspired by my heroes; Grace Coddington, Alexander McQueen, Lady Gaga, and Anna Wintour.  I will be editor-in-chief of Vogue one day.  I know I am one of millions of aspiring fashion giants to have that goal, however I am going to be the one to actually achieve it...I must.  And even if I don't, I will fight tooth and nail to get there.  I am a proud little monster, always will be.
Although right now I rock a pair of Chuck Taylors, when i would rather be sporting Louboutins, I know what my future lies in store for me.  So I guess you could say I'm a dreamer, the vision of an amazing future is what keeps me going.  And most importantly...it fuels my passion. So welcome to my blog, only good things to come.  Carpe Noctem
